Accountant (FT)

We are seeking a Healthcare Accountant in the healthcare industry, specifically in hospital, long term care and rural health clinics in Newcastle, WY. This role is focused on being a right-hand person to the CFO and Business Office Manager, with responsibilities spanning financial planning, budgeting, reporting, and change management. The role offers a long-term contract employment opportunity.

RESPONSIBLILITIES 

  • Oversee budgeting processes including operating expenditure (OpEx) and capital expenditure (CapEx)
  • Lead financial planning, analysis, and forecasting in alignment with strategic planning initiatives
  • Manage financial accounting and reporting, ensuring the accuracy of general ledger account structures, crosswalks, and integrations
  • Assist in Proformas and the financial modeling of hospital operations, including understanding net revenues, expenses, department sizes, and staffing
  • Understand and contribute to the development of budgets for capital projects, including the creation of business plans
  • Participate in and support change management initiatives within the organization
  • Contribute to the expansion of acute care services within the hospital
  • Coach and mentor existing internal staff, fostering growth and development within the finance team
  • Utilize skills in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP& A), Capital Management, Fund Accounting - Non-Profit, Grant Accounting, General Ledger System, OPEX, CapEx, Acute care, Hospital Inpatient, Healthcare operations, HealthCare System, Growth Strategy, Organizational Change Management, Sensitivity Analysis, Monthly Financial Reporting.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Candidate must possess a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a finance leadership role, preferably within the healthcare, hospitals industry.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP& A), Capital Management, and Fund Accounting - Non-Profit.
  • Proficiency in Grant Accounting, General Ledger System, OPEX, and CapEx is required.
  • Experience in acute care, hospital inpatient, and healthcare operations is necessary.
  • Familiarity with the HealthCare System and the ability to develop and implement growth strategies is vital.
  • Demonstrated experience in Organizational Change Management is needed.
  • Proficiency in carrying out Sensitivity Analysis and Monthly Financial Reporting is mandatory.
  • The candidate must be able to demonstrate a proven track record in driving financial performance and improving operational efficiency.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and lead a team towards achieving organizational goals.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively communicate complex financial data and information to stakeholders.
  • Must possess a bachelor’s degree in finance or related field; an MBA or related advanced degree is preferred.
  • Professional certification such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) will be considered an advantage.
  • Strong analytical skills and high level of accuracy in financial forecasting and budgeting.
  • Proficiency in using financial software and databases for financial analysis, forecasting, and strategic planning.
