Meet Addison Wythe - Building Connection, Purpose and Joy at Weston County Manor

Addison Wythe joined Weston County Health Services as Activities Manager on August 25, 2026. Though she is new to WCHS, her education and previous experience working in activities made the transition a natural fit.

For residents at Weston County Manor, activities are about much more than simply filling time. They create opportunities for connection, laughter, purpose and meaningful relationships — and for Addison, that is exactly what makes the work so rewarding.

A Background Rooted in Health and Wellness

Originally from a small town in northern Illinois, Addison moved to Weston County from Stevens Point, Wisconsin. She attended the University of Wisconsin–Stevens Point and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Health Science and Wellness.

Her background and experiences helped fuel her interest in working with the senior population.

“I love getting to know each resident as an individual and learning about the things that make them who they are,” Addison shared. “I especially enjoy listening to their stories, making them laugh, and finding little ways to brighten their day.”

Finding a Home at Weston County Manor

Addison and her boyfriend had been thinking about moving west for some time. When an opportunity brought them to Weston County for his new job, Addison was excited to see an opening in the Activities Department at WCHS.

Having previously worked in activities in Wisconsin, she saw the position as an opportunity to continue doing work she already enjoyed.

“When I first toured the Manor, it felt like a great place for me to grow and build relationships with the residents, staff and community,” she said.

More Than Activities

For Addison, activities at the Manor are not simply about games, crafts or scheduled events. They are about helping residents remain connected to who they are, the people around them and the community they helped build.

Why Connection Matters

“Activities and social connections are so important for our residents and senior community because they give people a sense of purpose, belonging and connection,” Addison explained.

Listening to residents’ stories, learning about their lives and finding ways to make each day a little brighter allows the Activities Department to create experiences that are personal rather than simply scheduled.

The Little Things Matter

Sometimes the most meaningful moments are also the simplest: a conversation, a shared laugh, a favorite activity or remembering something a resident enjoys.

“It’s so rewarding to build genuine connections and relationships with our residents and to see how the little things can make such a big difference,” Addison said.

Looking Ahead

As Addison continues settling into her new role and into the Weston County community, she is looking forward to building relationships with residents, staff and families.

“I am excited to see what Weston County continues to offer me and my loved ones as I help take care of yours!”
