Qualification
High School Diploma or equivalent
Certified Nursing Assistant or the ability to obtain within 1 year of employment.
Exceptional knowledge of medical terminology and processes.
Has and maintains Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
Strong written and oral communication skills
Physical Requirements
Periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer as well as periods of standing.
Occasional after-hours calls may occur.
Must be able to access, find, and navigate each department at WCHS.
Positions requires light to moderate work with 50 pounds maximum weight to lift and carry.
Position requires reaching, bending, stooping, and handling objects with hands and/or fingers, talking and/or hearing, and seeing.
Responsibilities
Updates and maintains the Long-Term Care Master Schedule to ensure all shifts are covered as required.
Contacts staff to fill in vacant shifts to ensure quality of care as required.
Acts as the initial Point of Contact for scheduling questions, concerns, or changes.
Helps coordinate orientation with new staff.
Will perform the duties of Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and/or Nutrition Support Aide (NSA) as directed by LTC Director or other supervisory nursing staff.
Coordinates with staff and other departments to ensure efficiency.
Attends and participates in staff meetings and other assigned meetings.
Adheres to accreditation and compliance standard guidelines.
Assists in completing required reports, program reviews and preparation.
Utilizes good communication skills to maintain positive relationships with clients, providers, co-workers and other sections in the organization and with other facilities in the community.
Maintains a professional, organized and clean working environment by following organizational policies, guidelines, and safety standards.
Completes Work Assignments in a timely manner.
Assists visitors with directions whenever requested.
Always introduces self to patients, residents, families, and visitors when appropriate.
Reports safety hazards as appropriate.
Replenishes supplies as needed.
Follows all infection control practices including hand washing techniques, Standard Precautions and Isolation Precautions.
Maintains set quality standards when performing job duties.
